We work with volunteers who rescued the animals below. We help these volunteers buy food and cover medical expenses. Once treated, many pets go on to find their forever homes.
We also work with three large shelters that are overcrowded with abandoned animals. We fundraise for their medical supplies and other needs.
There is an ongoing urgent effort to rescue people and animals trapped in the flooding unleashed by the detonation of the Kherson dam. The destroyed dam flooded 600,000 sq kilometers, fully submerging countless Ukrainian villages, in what is likely to become an unmitigated ecological disaster.
Hundreds of volunteers are trying to rescue abandoned and stranded animals. Their needs are endless, from food and vet care for rescued animals, to crates and tranquilizer equipment used to capture and relocate them from flooded areas.
Several of our volunteers, are on locations in Kherson, navigating the flooded streets, pulling cats and dogs out of the water and bringing them to animal shelters all around Ukraine.
Their photos below capture some of the chaos of the situation. Please donate generously to fund the rescue effort.
